There's a lot of noise around Grand Theft Auto VI and not all of it is real. This is a plain-language rundown of what Rockstar has actually shown and confirmed — and an honest line on what we still don't know.

The setting: Leonida and Vice City

GTA 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida, with a modern, reimagined Vice City at its heart — Rockstar's take on Miami and the surrounding area of Florida. After years away from Vice City, the series is returning to it with a present-day spin rather than the 1980s of the original.

Expect the usual GTA mix of a dense city plus the spaces around it. We'll add detail here as Rockstar shows more of the map.

The characters: Jason and Lucia

GTA 6 follows two lead characters, Jason and Lucia, whose stories are tied together. Lucia is the first female protagonist in a mainline Grand Theft Auto — a notable first for the series.

Beyond the broad strokes Rockstar has shown, we're deliberately not going to invent plot details. When the story is officially expanded on, you'll read it here.

What we don't know yet

Honesty matters more than hype, so here's the "not confirmed" column:

  • Exact map size and which areas are explorable.
  • How GTA Online–style multiplayer will work at and after launch.
  • Edition contents, pricing, and file size.
  • A PC release (not announced for launch).

Anything claiming certainty on these right now is guessing — or worse, baiting clicks.

How we'll cover it

We update these pages as Rockstar confirms things, in our own words, with sources linked. No scraped transcripts, no fake "leaks." Bookmark this one — it'll grow as launch approaches.
