If you only want the facts without the noise, here's where things actually stand with Grand Theft Auto VI — dates, platforms, and pre-orders — with everything unconfirmed clearly labeled as such.

The short version

  • Release date: November 19, 2026.
  • Platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Pre-orders: open June 25, 2026.
  • Setting: the state of Leonida, centered on a modern Vice City.

Platforms: consoles first

GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. These are current-generation consoles only — there's no last-gen (PS4 / Xbox One) version, which is normal for a game built to push current hardware.

What about PC?

Rockstar has not announced a PC version for launch. That doesn't rule one out later — previous GTA titles eventually came to PC after a console release — but if you're PC-only, plan around that uncertainty rather than assuming day-one access. Treat any "GTA 6 PC pre-order" you see right now with suspicion (see our scam guidance).

Pre-orders

Pre-orders open June 25, 2026. If you know you're buying, pre-ordering can secure your copy and any pre-order bonuses. Before you commit:

  • Decide which platform you're playing on first.
  • Buy only from official storefronts or trusted retailers.
  • Read what any special edition actually includes before paying extra.

What's not confirmed yet

Plenty is still unconfirmed, and we won't pretend otherwise. As of now, treat anything you see about exact edition contents, pricing, file size, or online features as unofficial until Rockstar says so. We'll update this page as real details land.

The bottom line

Mark November 19, 2026 for launch and June 25, 2026 for pre-orders, plan for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, and don't trust PC or "early access" claims until Rockstar makes them official. We'll keep this page current as the picture fills in.
